Precision Dentures vs. Standard Dentures

Precision dentures are made to be as much like your natural teeth as possible. To capture your correct chewing function and jaw relationship additional measurements are taken to track the movement of your upper and lower jaw. These records are then used to design dentures that function within your natural chewing parameters.

What does this mean to you?
You will get a denture that will function and look much like your natural teeth. You will also experience more comfort and stability with your dentures. By using these techniques your dentures will last longer than standard dentures.

Precision dentures are prosthetic devices used to replace the missing teeth of the upper and/or lower arch. Precision dentures are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. They allow patients to have improved self-esteem due to improved esthetics, fit and function.

Standard Dentures
Standard dentures may fit comfortably and function reasonably well however they are constructed using physiological averages on a non-adjustable articulator.

What does this mean to you?
By using physiological averages, the denturist cannot ensure that your chewing function and balance of your bite can be accurately recorded, this can cause your dentures to be unstable and have premature wear of the teeth, that can cause them to wear out and need replacement sooner.
