Partial, Complete & Implant Dentures in Red Deer

Partial Denturesivoclar-vivadent-logo

Partial dentures replace one or more teeth. The denturist places your teeth on a metal framework and secures the dentures with clasps. We offer the following types of partial dentures in Red Deer:

  • Transitional: We construct this temporary cosmetic treatment, which is also known as a flipper, with acrylic. This solution works best for patients who require temporary replacement before installation of an implant or bridge.
  • Metal: These partial metal dentures use chrome-cobalt to fill gaps left by missing teeth.
  • Titanium: Patients with titanium dentures prefer a light, thin &biocompatible material.

Not sure which material fits your needs? Rely on our denturist to help you find the material that fits your preferences and requests.

Complete Dentures

Complete dentures in Red Deer provide patients with a full set of teeth. Whether they need to replace the top, the bottom, or both, complete dentures can fill the gap. We offer three types of complete dentures:
  • Standard Dentures: This cosmetic treatment uses a standard-grade tooth & acrylic. Within a few appointments, denturists create prosthetic replacements based on your mouth’s measurements.
  • Biofunctional Prosthetic System (BPS) Dentures: Denturists measure all facial information to recreate your natural smile. These dentures also restore your natural facial & lip contour.
  • Implant Dentures: This treatment uses attachments to secure the denture to implants.

Surgical Denturesvita-logo

Surgical dentures are dentures that are placed after natural teeth have been extracted by a dentist or an oral surgeon.

There are two ways of making these. They can be made ahead of time and inserted immediately after the extractions are done. They will act as a Band-Aid and help reduce bleeding. You will also never have to go without teeth. However, more adjustments will be needed.

Another option is to wait until your gums have healed, approximately 3-9 weeks, and then get impressions taken and the dentures made. An advantage to waiting is that you would be able to have a try-in appointment where you get to try on the teeth in wax to see how the teeth will look.

Fixed Bridges

If you are missing multiple teeth, you can get an implant retained bridge. The number of implants needed depends on how many teeth are missing adjacent to each other.

The implants are normally placed in a single session. Often, the implants are ready for the final bridge placement. However, in some cases, implants may need a month or two to fully integrate with the jaw. In this case, a temporary bridge may be placed.

Implant Locator Attachments

Are you tired of using denture adhesives? With as little as two implants, you will never have to use it again. It is a relatively fast, minimally invasive, simple procedure. After the implants are placed, the surgeon covers them with healing caps. At this time, we adjust your current denture to keep you comfortable while the bone grows to the implant.

After four to six months, the healing caps come off and are replaced with locators. After this is done, a new denture is made with attachments that snap on to the locators.

Benefits of locator attachments:

  • They are self-aligning & you can BITE them into place without any damage.
  • A patented combination of inner & outer retention ensures the longest lasting performance.
  • Choice of preferred retention strength with different, easily exchangeable locator replacement males.
  • Lowest height saves interocclusal space.

All-on-4® Procedure

Get the freedom of Permanent Teeth-in-a-Day for both your upper and lower jaw!

Permanent Teeth-in-a-Day is exactly as it sounds: permanent, secure teeth in just one day. This solution is made possible through the use of a treatment called All-on-4.

The All-on-4 procedure uses strategically placed implants to find the strongest bone. Unlike traditional implants, two of the four are placed on an angle. This allows us to load the bridge immediately and eliminates the four to six months of healing time before a secure bridge can be placed. There is often no need for bone grafts when using this technique.

On the day of the surgery, all the prep work has been completed and the denture is ready to be converted into a bridge. So you walk into the surgeon’s office wearing a denture and leave the same day with a permanent, secure bridge.
